Design, Fabrication & Installation Proposal
Jan 15, 2026

Overview
Design and fabricate seamless custom doors that allow the space to fully close when needed or remain completely open - preserving a clean, uninterrupted interior aesthetic in both states.
Design
The entire structure will be made from two door pieces that seamlessly retract behind the wall, providing soundproofing, structural stability, and a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic

Cabinet
We recommend designing a custom cabinet for two reasons: first, to achieve a two-panel door system, the opening must be reduced by 10–12 inches; without extending the wall, a third overlapping door would be required. Second, the custom cabinet allows for additional storage & shelving.
Locking System
Using powerful magnets, we propose a snap-in, snap-out mechanism that keeps the doors securely aligned and in place - without visible hardware - ensuring a smooth, natural motion.

Rails System
We will utilize a concealed rail system hidden behind the panel to preserve a seamless aesthetic while providing the necessary structural support to keep the doors stable during opening and closing.
Materials
The selected materials for this project are positioned on the high-end spectrum; however, the scope and pricing can be adjusted based on the client’s preferences.

1
Plywood sheets with an integrated soundproofing layer for the doors. Special structural design to prevent door bending over time.
2
Real wood veneer is applied to the doors and shelving to achieve a luxurious look and authentic wood texture, adding a refined, distinctive touch to the interior design.
3
White-coated plywood panels will be used for the rail system, seamlessly integrating with the wall while concealing the mechanism and providing a clean, refined finish.
4
Hardware, including handles, will be crafted from polished brass for a timeless, enduring finish. Stainless steel rails for the moving mechanism.
